If anyone else finds the open source pdf viewers for linux inadequate (i.e.
butt-ugly, limited or no text search capability, crap navigation, etc, etc), adobe have just released version 7 for linux:

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/7x/7.0/enu/

think it may still be in beta as you can't seem to get it off their usual webpage.

as an aside, could anyone tell me why commercial software houses almost invariably go with gtk for their linux apps?
