Hi Simon,

Are you actually using this happily? Do you just watch recorded tv or
dvd's too?

I've seen your page on dxr3 tuning for linux (and very helpful it was
too - haven't got the link to hand right now - I'm sure simon has it!)
As I understand it there is no quick fix. Providing a sync delay varies
depending on the media and file type (e.g. dvd versus mpeg file on hard
disk). If I play about for a few minutes I can get it going but it's
hardly convenient. Plus as my girlfriend and command lines do not mix I
am the only one who gets to choose what's on tv. Wait a minute... ;-)

Also, because the dxr3 outputs a video stream one must either login
remotely to run a command to start the stream or perhaps also have a
tvout card, use that to select your file via mythtv and a remote, and
then switch over to your dxr3 input feed. I'd say given the limited
number of PCI slots on mini-itx this isn't ideal.

I'd be interested in your comments/suggestions on both of the above.

I for one can't wait until fanless cpus are fast enough to run a PVR.
For me it doesn't have to be diskless. A quiet disk, external power
supply and fanless cpu will do.

Cheers,

Ben.
