[Gllug] open source codes for video streaming

I know of xiph theora and whatever is bundled into vlc ...

what I'm wondering is what other open source video/audio streaming
codes are out there that are worth looking at?

specifically any that have demonstratably been used for large volumes
(both clip duration and simultanous users/sec).

anyone know what video.google are using to serve up their streams for instance?
