There is XPDE* which is a project to clone the Windows XP interface on
Linux.

I don't like the idea myself.. they have done a reasonable job with it
but what is the first thing a Windows XP user is going to do in front of
it? Find some small function which is missing or doesn't work as
expected and then you are on the losing side of a microscopic comparison

Trying to replicate and equal the look and feel of an application (let
alone a entire desktop) is always going to be troublesome as users have
expectations set.

I think showing people Gnome or KDE and saying to them "Look *this* is
Linux, over there is XP. They are both as easy to use, but see, they are
different" is a much better approach
