No problem. Dealing with things like this is part of the joys of
being a systems engineer :-)

You're probably looking to get the compat-gcc and compat-libstdc++
packages installed.
Use yum to get these installed and report back to us.


On a deeper level, if this is a commercial code you are compiling then
maybe Fedora Core 4 is a bit too bleeding edge.
For example, if the code is certified to work with Redhat you might
look at either getting the supported Redhat or using a white box distro,
like CentOS.
