Yesterday I bought this cheapo bluetooth USB dongle:

And, as predicted, it seems to have Just Worked<tm>, though I need to get
the stuff working Ubunutu.  I could see the station from my Ipaq.

GPS should arrive tomorrow, so I'll know more then.
