Hmm - I'm on a 2GHz AMD with 1GB of RAM, and I'm seeing 10-12 seconds 
too (for OOo2). Now I just switched desktop distros from Fedora (2) to 
Ubuntu (5.10) and startup seems noticably quicker, although I didn't 
time it on FC2.
