I don't understand what you mean. I run several hundred sites on 2000
and 2003 and even with Microsoft's hopeless patching, I still maintain
a very stable, very fast and very available site.

Depends what you mean - for a professional hosting provider, a decent
pair of firewalls, the ability to roll out patches and updates quickly
and (semi)automatically, decent hardware, and perhaps some form of
clustering for redundancy or performance would be standard.

Either you've found learning Linux very very easy, or you live in some
virtual universe. I agree, I would choose a debian box over a windows
box any day - much easier to keep happy, I agree, but keeping windows
systems up to date, clean, fast and available is trivial for any
professional sysadmin.
