I must say that as one brought up in the days of micros this attitude
has always bewildered me. Isn't all writing, well, texty? Isn't
the job of email programs to, well, help you *write* and organize
(threads of) such texty things?
So, er, what's wrong wtih texty programs to handle texty things?
(Obviously doing something like CAD/CAM entirely textually is insane,
but most things we do with computers other than play games on them are
wordy or numbery or basically *texty*. Why do so many people have an
allergy to it?)
[sending mail from an XEmacs/Gnus session with one frame on an X
server with flashy graphics and one on a textual terminal running
over an SSH link with no graphics at all; is this graphical or texty
or both?]
