Yeah, I did it using Inkscape. Far from ideal, but usable enough once
you've created yourself a library of a few standard items that you can
cut and paste into your drawing. You'd be better off with a proper CAD
package, rather than a general purpose vector drawing app. The only
one I've used under Linux is QCad, but I found it to be somewhat
lacking. Admittedly that was a while ago, so it may well be much
better in recent versions.
