I have just come down from Scotland with my dad & 2 lads (3 of us went up Ben
Nevis - I'll swear that it was higher/steeper than the last time that I did it).

Stupid check in security, I suppose that it might make some people feel more secure.
Allow no liquids through, but you can buy all manner of stuff once through the scanner;
I wonder what sort of checking the liquid/... in the shops goes through.

I noticed that also on sale was plenty of spirits (whisky/...) & perfume - both of
which can be flammable - OK, a low temperature flame, but enough to cause damage.
No pastes - presumably because they could be used to make bombs (supposedly).

All of our stuff went through their X-ray/... machines, but on the flight I noticed
that my youngest was digging out a dinosaur[**] - the air stuardess noticed it &
was more concerned about the mess (and it was) than anything else. If that sort of
thing gets through then what else ?

I am still waiting for the real evidence. It will be interesting to see how many of
those arrested recently will be quietly released and then deported so that we can't
hear their side of the story.

[**] we had been to the refurbished Kelvinside museum, it was a lump of clay/...
with plastic dinosaur parts in it.
