I've just loaded Ubuntu Dapper Drake onto an Advent laptop and am trying to
find a Wifi card that will work.

Are there known chipsets that I can quote to buy a card that Ubuntu will
recognise?

I've done lots of Googling but the mists of uncertainty still swirl.
