[Gllug] Recovering disk space

I tried loading a copy of Gentoo yesterday, without much success, and
I've now got a PC with the partition space all ****ed up. As well as
failing to install Gentoo, I also lost the copy of Windows XP that I'd
installed.

The good news is that no data was lost, since there's no data (at the
moment) on the machine.

What's the easiest way to recover my disk space? I thought of booting
from a DOS 6.0 floppy and typing format C:, but there must be a more
elegant way. I could, of course, boot Gentoo from the Live CD and do a
logical equivalent, if recommended,
