yeah yeah yeah..... well - ya know - we're all geniuses here.
but after you, craggy faced,  rock climbers have finished trekking to the 
summit of Mount Ego,
could I just say this -

I havent got all of this thread since I first asked the question as I had a 
prob
with my outlook express browserso I havent got all your replies - will look 
at
the archive in a couple of hours. Also, why else would I use
sendmail other than its the easiest way to route the mail for a  small 
office of about 20 people?

quite a lot probably eludes you, that's the nature of elusiveness - its hard 
to grasp !
