I discovered at the weekend that I have 229,000 files occupying some 10G
in my home directory (/home/john) alone.  They've accumulated over the
last 20 years - even copies of the data from the floppies I used with my
BBC micro are there.

As I have a 300G drive in my server and a 35G DLT drive to back up to I
see no need to prune, just have the occasional tidy up.
