MPC currently has two positions available in it's production systems
department.  MPC is one of the world's leading post production facilities
creating high-end digital visual effects for the television and feature film
industries. These visual effects are created using a high performance
Linux-based infrastructure managed by the Systems team.

Junior Systems Support
----------------------

The primary responsibility is to provide basic technical support to the
artists and assist other members of the Systems team with machine moves and
installations. A degree is not required but the ability to learn quickly and
think on your feet is essential. You should have a keen interest in computer
hardware and operating systems combined with excellent communication and
teamworking skills.

Systems Administrator

The company seeks to appoint a Systems Administrator into this team to
ensure the ongoing smooth running of the production systems and develop them
further to meet business needs. The appointee's core responsibilities would
include:

- Ensure systems run reliably and perform as required.
- Work with R&D team to build and install new in-house software.
- Develop tools and systems to increase efficiency.
- Identify upcoming requirements, recommend and implement solutions.
- Mentoring junior team members.

Applicants will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years UNIX/Linux system administration experience.
- An understanding of technologies such as Perl, shell scripting, NFS,
Apache, MySQL, CVS and RPM.
- Proven team player with good organisation and communication skills.
