Thanks - that's sorted out my work laptop!

One other thing - as this particular end user is immediately ex-Windows, you 
should run "Automatix" after install, to guarantee that he can open all the 
proprietary media files he'll find on the 'net.  It automates all the 
installs, and "completes" a Ubuntu install.
