Thats really not the issue, Never have I found a hdd pre-formatted or
used ( smartctl usually has either 2 or 3 as power cycle count ) when a
machine from Dell is shipped out with FreeDOS. The issue has its roots
in MS's legal noise - in that when machines are shipped out with no OS,
pirated copies of MS Windows are used on them.
