Hi,
all this backup talk has got me thinking. At work we have a backup
regime that Martin would approve of, but my home setup is quite the
opposite! As I collect more data and invest more time writing stuff I
don't want to loose my need for a backup gets stronger. Now I write to
cd once in a while. What I'd like would be to have a tape drive.
I'd be wanting to backup about 40GB. Probably just do a full backup once
a week then incremental in between.
The trouble is I'm from Hull so I'm tight. ;-)
I want a cheap solution. What's the best value tape backup at the
moment? I'm looking to keep this under 200 quid including 5 tapes.
Is that even possible? For this I'd rather not go to ebay as obviously
reliability must be good.
Factors would be:
* tapes can handle 100s of rewrites before replacement
* prefer tapes that can hold > 50GB for future needs
Thanks in advance for suggestions,
Ben.
