The answer which I use to that one is to use Mondo back up my *system* and
DLT tape to back up my *data*.  I consider one Mondo run a month
sufficient to be sure of being able re-create a bootable system in the
event of a catastrophic hardware failure.  Then a tape backup at least
once a week gives me the means to recover my data.

This approach also means that it's more realistic to do a test restore of
the mondo CDs.  I have done this more than once.
