Oh yes. Tiny little Oracle are in *such* terminal trouble over it, too.

Thankfully anyone sane will give this the consideration it deserves (the
round file is over *there*). Even people who don't get a visceral churning
at the very word `proprietary'[1] will probably note the security record
of ActiveX...


[1] apparently to some business people it means `impending monopoly ->
    license to print money -> good', or in some way `worked on by wizards'.
    They never seem to consider that there are always going to be more
    wizards *outside* a given proprietary-X company than within it...
