As you have no preference here, perhaps the best place to start would be 
to look at the help wanted section of Sourceforge [1]. This lists 
exactly what it says on the tin within various disciplines, skill sets 
and commitment levels.

There are many ways and things to contribute to a FLOSS project. Just 
out of interest, why did you specify C/C++ over any other language or 
type of contribution? Do you have experience in those languages?

My suggestion would be to perhaps start slowly and not over-commit 
yourself. IME FLOSS projects can have a tendency to take over your life 
if you are not careful and if you are still unsure of what exactly you 
want to or are able to contribute I would say starting small and working 
  up is a good way to go.
