Oh God yes, IMO nearly all 'package managers?' are pretty much the same Yast, 
Yum, Apt etc, I guessed what was being said was really about .deb over rpm.

Debian is very nice but I know too little about it to use it regularly I've 
used RH for donkey yonks so tend to stick with the old faithful jumper. :)

Anyway theres less typing with rpm

dpkg  = 4 letters
rpm = 3 letters

:D
