While not over gsm/umts, I do use VoiP over WiFi from my mobile phone.
Since I have Wifi at home, work and pretty much every friends place - my
gsm usage has become quite low. Only time you really need it is when you
are out and about.
I've tried using it on Vodafone/3g, but latency seems quite high. I can
register with the provider and login, but most calls dont get placed.
The ones that do, keep dropping packets. Plus, with data charges being
what they are - the economics might not work out.
