I think the marketing departments of content-owning companies could 
quite easily persuade the public that there is such a thing as mild DRM, 
if they have not done so already. Ironically, I also think it would be 
difficult to persuade joe music buyer to see why all DRM is bad. I 
suppose we can wait to hear how the anti-DRM event goes.

I assume you mean an illegal download. I don't quite see your point. Are 
you saying illegal file sharing is ok (ie should be legal) for someone 
to participate in if they would not be buying the music anyway, even if 
they enjoy the music and use it as if they owned it?
