Parse error.  Could you define some terms?   What do you mean by the
unrevealing first screen?

Ubuntu can/does use the same packaging a depsolving system as debian
(although the actual repositories and packages are not the same) - the
command you mention will install all you need for a gnome-based X
system, but why don't you have this already?

I don't fully understand your question, your requirements or your
