Well, "hot pluggable" is designed to disconnect easily. SCA-80 SCSI 
connectors have the benefit of more pads, of course, providing more 
friction to keep the connector in place.

Any hot-plug SATA caddy system will hold the drive in place, and the SATA 
connector will be on a fixed backplane, so the mechanical strength of the 
connection is a moot point.

But for simple cable to drive arrangements, there is no way to fix the 
connector except by tying the cable to the chassis, which is a reasonable 
suggestion.
