Someone has come to me asking for a new Linux box (must be 64 bit red hat).
One requirement is to support a bunch of legacy RS232 devices that they have,
mostly dot matrix printers and a couple of green screen terminals (Wyse I think).
I must admit to not having played with multiport RS232 adaptors in a decade, and
not on Linux. I have concerns of buying something that doesn't do what it says
on the tin.
A quick google shows that there are USB connected RS232 adaptors about, but I
can't evaluate one over the other.
Can anyone give me any experiences good/bad/... for this sort of thing.
TIA
