Desktop penetration is racing ahead now with companies like IBM, local
authorities and others beginning Linux desktop rollouts.
It's a fast growing section and the point will come naturally where some
home users will start considering Linux to match what they have at work.
When that happens academic institutions will start considering Linux
desktops as well.
The desktop market is seeding quite nicely - as evidenced by the paniced
reaction from MS who currently respond with massive discounts but that's
not a long term strategy for them.
