I ended up finding a *very* helpful file in the kernel Documentation/scsi/ directory
that listed all the adaptec model numbers & what module is needed.
I ended up choosing an Adaptec 19160 PCI 32bit U160 SCSI.
If I win the bid I'll see if it works.
