I wish, but it didn't notably deter the spammers when one of their
foremost members (Kushnir) was murdered, probably by the Russian mafia.

Oh, look, two more were murdered in New Jersey way back in 1999...

`Pour discourager les autres' only works if the guys you're trying to
discourage are smart and non-self-deluding enough to realise that `hey,
this might happen to us, too'.
