[Gllug] Extending USB range

Hi All,

I'm setting up a gateway-cum-print server for a friend and he would like the 
printer to be in his office, but the gateway machine itself to be in the 
cupboard-under-the-stairs. The total distance between the computer and 
printer (taking into account the route the cable will need to take) is approx 
10m.

Does anyone have any experience with extending USB cables to this distance? 
Will a powered hub between 2No.x5m cables suffice, or is there a specific 
USB 'extender' of sorts?
