Aptitude tracks dependancies better.  For example, you install 
application Foo.  Foo pulls in libfoo, libbar, libcar and libdaphne.  
When you remove Foo apt-get will do just that, aptitude would remove all 
the libs as well, assuming nothing else depended on them.
