[Gllug] cron.hourly not running

I upgraded a server from Debian sarge to etch but now cron.hourly (and
.daily etc) seem to have stopped running. The strange thing is that the
processes in the root crontab (ie the processes listed in crontab -e) seem
to be running.

Any ideas as to what might be wrong?
