I don't think I will be there, but this should interest quite a lot of
people on GLLUG.
Abstract below.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the Free Software movement has been
its educational ethos: users teach each other and themselves, and share
their experiences doing so. There is a rich history of peer education,
which is now being re-examined and adapted by forward thinking
organisations in light of new technologies and possibilities for self-
directed learning.

This briefing introduces some ground-breaking ideas and projects in the
field of knowledge sharing, distributed learning and teaching.

     * Mary Harrington, from The School of Everything will talk about
'Offline social software: why does face-to-face matter?
     * Ben Vershbow will introduce his work at the Institute for the
Future of the Book
     * Andy Gibson will talk about his experience starting a Freeschool
within the School for Social Entrepreneurs
