There is no requirement of specific experience in the IT industry and I am willing to consider any candidates. Regarding the responsibilities of the role, I'm not expecting every applicant to have "all bases covered". An applicant can be brought up to speed in any areas lacking. I am more concerned about the essential requirements and I turn to the applicants to their interpretation of those.

In what way exactly? Care to expand for potential applicants? Just
interested as I've had to hire sysadmins in the past and may have to
again in the future.
I thought the salary of the vacancy was low, but at least there was no
ageism intended in the job spec, ie "young dynamic team" or "suit junior
position" and other such cliches, which is refreshing.
