My guess these are based on the now ubiquitous Texas AR7 chip  - which from
memory has processor adsl modem and memory all in one little chip  and runs
embedded Linux  (it may also run the GPL routertech software).
Just shows what massive integration can do  -  look at how you can now
apparently get a digital tv set-top box for twenty quid !
