Agreed.  The most extreme example I've seen recently is the iPhone which 
advertises (IIRC) "Unlimited data (limited to 200MB / month)".

It's time some of these broadband providers were taken to court. 
Unfortunately the rule of the marketplace is that if no-one takes you to 
court you can get away with it.

My broadband provider is satisfyingly honest.  3 GB / month during the 
day - unlimited (and they really do mean unlimited) at night.  A while 
back I stopped maintaining a Debian mirror (just i386) because there 
didn't seem to be any point any more.  In less than a month I got a nice 
note saying I was a bit over my limit (I do do a lot of messing around 
with installations) so I went back to running the mirror.  That of 
course updates at about 3 in the morning, and my usage is back to well 
under their *clearly advertised* limits.
