Fundamental to the concept of theft is deprivation of the object not of
the potential to earn from it and the copyright holder clearly retains
the potential to earn from their copyright protected materials to no
lesser extent regardless of the actions of any individual infringement.
They still retain the copyright.

Copyright is fundamentally different to property. It isn't a natural
form of property at all.
