No, but if he is sending mail from a system with Exim installed, then
his mail client is probably using Exim to send the mail (the Exim binary
is, among other things, an almost-entirely-compatible drop in
replacement for the sendmail binary).

The -t option should *not* be used when starting Exim as a daemon.  It
can be used when invoking Exim on the command line, when the message to
be send is placed in stdin.
