Ryan: I concur with your observation about HP and GNU/Linux - it was
exactly what I noted when I read the HP spec sheet. Did you write an
update how-to detailing how you managed to move the device onto the
network (and still keep scanning)?
Stephen: I also use a (slightly older) HP MFP and compared to its Epson
predecessor I'm much happier and my wallet is too. It does rankle though
that the CO's Windoze machine will print all sorts of fancy stuff, eg
booklets, and in particular long documents double-sided, over the
network; yet I can't get such going from Linux clients - but then that
just might say more about my ignorance/lack of effort in configuring CUPS!
