No. I have my opinions, but I've used email long enough to accept that

That's not really "demanding that nobody share their responses". The
"(es)" is also worth noting.
To pick a very recent example from this list, Bruce Perens' email was
entirely right to request replies off-list (to avoid spamming all other
subscribers), which could have been achieved automagically with a
Reply-To header, consistent list behaviour and smart email clients.
