I'm not sure I'd trust the Evening Standard to be entirely accurate in
its reporting. "Woolly thinking" would be a good description of what
they publish.

In fact, I've frequently come across articles that actually contradict
their headlines. This means that you have to disbelieve at least 50% of
what you read there, or else believe contradictory things,
