[Gllug] Autodiallers with “Line Sensing”

I have a client who has a cold storage facility which has an automated 
dialler on the temperature monitoring system. The line developed a fault 
and it was noticed because it was also being used for ADSL.

The dialler has a green LED that lights when plugged into a phone socket 
and that remained on. In addition, his ISP didn't see any problem on the 
line. There was a fault at BT, but it must have been something quite subtle.

My client decided to look into having a daily test sms/call issued. I'm 
not sure anything really counts as "working".
