I will answer this in two contradictory way, once with my normal voice
...(oops this inst Monty python)

  - technically concur with Caroline. With a router it really shouldn't
matter what OS your host is running.
  - but maybe with BT there is some extra feature that needs windoze.
    I really am guessing here.
  - BUT if the sales droids are so technically knowledgeable that they
don't even know whether Linux works or not, touching and barge poles
    comes to mind (i.e. don't!).

I chose between Andrews and Arnold and a well known ISP that I had had
dial up since about 95 on the basis of knowlegability/otherwise of the
sales force. When A&A guy couldn't answer my question they put me
to someone who could. I asked who I was speaking to and it turned out to
be the MD, Adrian Kennard.

(Hmm not sure I have spelt that long word right but I am dyslexic so
please forgive me)
PS - spell checker suggest BT -> BET. Is this saying something too :-)
