[Gllug] Do modern webpages kill older laptops/PCs?

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 and Firefox 3 has a new memory allocator that

makes it quicker than FF2. Its in beta so I'd recommend trying it.

FF3 is actually at RC stage now and you can download pre-build Linux binaries which are faster than the beta and pretty stable.
