Agree - rules (and social conventions?) are for the guidance for the
wise and the obedience of fools.
Some comments are so crashingly obvious in their context in a thread
that its annoying to have to read a top posted original comment before
the reply comment that pertains to it - this is particularly so with one
liner comments, throwaway comments with the intent of being humourous
(irrelevant as to actually whether actually witty) or instructions that
say it all in the immediacy of the topic or question posed.
Other comments may require more contextualisation and then quoted
replies with below commenting are relevant and desirable.
It was silly, in this instance, to criticise the one liner top posted
comment that has started this flamebait potential thread given that its
context was indeed crashingly evident...
