Performance Co-pilot works as a daemon (pmcd).
You configure which parameters it logs in /var/lib/pcp/config/pmlogger
You can log to local didk, or to a remote logging host
The 'pminfo' command on the system I'm working on shows 693 parameters are
available for logging.
You can retrieve and graph these values in bar charts (etc) from a remote
system.
Also you can use 'pmie' (pm inference engine) to send alerts if the
parameters are going too how or low,
eg. filesystems filling up or swap space running low (etc. etc.)
