[Gllug] Quad Core Desktop Motherboard

Hi, It would seem that this would have been a question that would have
been asked 1000 times before but I can't see it in the archives.

My desktop system is due for a new life and I'd like to replace it with
something quickish. I plan to run Centos 5 on it plus VMware. I have
used several ASUS MB's before and they seem OK.

Any gotcha's to avoid? I read about the P5Q being tricky with Centos4
but that's a bit old now. I recall on my current MB (P4P800) the
Ethernet chip and the second IDE controller wasn't supported until
around 2.6.12 or so. I would like to avoid need to compile up drivers
if I can avoid it and for the sound to work....

What MB's do you guys have running? The usual sites seem devoid of solid
info

Thanks in advance

Ken
