[Gllug] Launching applications at gnome-session startup

If I want to launch an application at login (effectively whenever
gnome-session starts), what's the approved way of doing that? I'm
running Fedora 9[1], and want to do some xrandr things whenever a
particular user logs in. I can't find anything on any of the menus,
and the documentation is woefully inadequate (as seems to be the case
for so much of the Linux desktop these days, sadly).
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

[1] Actually, this is on behalf of someone else. I wouldn't be caught
dead using GNOME (or KDE for that matter). I personally just stick
such things in ~/.Xclients. But that's not appropriate here.
